+Psychoticjesters
I just got a Garmin Etrex 30 for Christmas, which I've heard was one of the best ones to get for geocaching (For a $300 price tag it better be! ) But the map is pretty basic, it doesn't show much for terrain or hiking trails, not even any of the side streets in the city! Is there a way to upgrade the details in the maps for free? Somewhere I can download them I guess? I was hoping to get ahold of googlemaps or some type of terrain quality. Even my phone has google maps for the C:geo app! Quote Link to comment
+Atlas Cached
Because you purchased a Garmin GPSr, most of the information and Map Sources here will apply. If you need help with BaseCamp, try this link. Quote Link to comment
+splashy
On your gps is installed the Basemap, this is a very basic map. Get free maps at gpsfiledepot.com http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ look for the gmapsupp option, unzip the map and copy paste this map in the gps Garmin folder. +luvvinbird
I purchased Garmin's City Navigator (North America) NT map on micro SD card. I like the convenience of simply popping the card into any of my devices and going anywhere in North America with it. No, they're not free and average around $75. This time of year you may get a good deal on it. Personal choice. Quote Link to comment
