Distance to a new cache

I was wondering how to change the distance to a new cache in my emails?

It seems and I have noticed this for like 3 years now off and on, I get an email with a new cache listing or a temporarily disabled cache and it puts the cache either correctly or several KM off. There is no rime or reason to it. I moved 3 years ago, 4 KM as the crow flies.

I just received this email

For GC3PWCM: Station Road Boulder-Garbage to Nature Series (Disabled) (Traditional Cache)

Location: Ontario, Canada

9.1mi SW (14.6km SW)

DDTKR temporarily disabled Station Road Boulder-Garbage to Nature Series (Disabled) (Traditional Cache) at 12/19/2012

Log Date: 12/19/2012

Will replace log soon.

The cache is indeed 14.6 KM from my old house!

Thing is the cache is 16.9 KM from my new house

I just checked another cache and it is the same way, it goes to my old house.

I went to my account details and sure enough it shows my new address!

So whats up?

Notifications don't use your address or home location. Each notification uses a separate set of coordinates. If some of them are showing the wrong distance, it means you need to go into those notifications and change the coordinates they're using.

Yep. You need to go to the Notification titled "Traditional Cache", and change the coordinate to the proper ones. Or, you can delete it and create a new one.

When you create a new notification, the coordinates are pre-populated with you home coordinate. If you later change your home coordinates, it does not change what is in the notification. A notification can be on any set of coordinates. I have one that gives me new caches near a state park in a neighboring state.

Thanks for the replies, I thought I was missing something somewhere but just couldn't think of it.

Thought I would have gotten a notification of replies to this and when I didn't I forgot about it until I just got one in for a cache .5KM from my old house, just now.

Anyway all fixed up now, I hope.

Thanks again

You probably need to click the "watch this topic" button in the top right corner at the top of the thread to get notified of replies.

As the OP, he should already be subscribed. It's probably something buried in the general forum settings. I know that it is automatic for ever topic that I start or reply to.

It could be buried in your personal settings.

I don't get subscribed to any topic, even when I start the topic, unless I check the "watch this topic" button in the top right corner.
