+lady80 0 Posted December 18, 2012 I loved my droid for geocaching and now needed to upgrade the phone. My new phone is a android 4.1.1 and now the distance to the cache rather than being 400 feet is like 120 miles. Do I need a new version of geocaching or is it the phone? +T.D.M.22 1 Posted December 18, 2012 It's the phone. One thing-make sure location using GPS and location using WIFI/Cell signal is active. I had the same problem with my old phone. And it may be the phone-my current one was off by 400 meters. and that's the best it's been. Quote Share this post Link to post
Andronicus 1 Posted December 19, 2012 If you are planning to use your phone for geocaching, it is super importante to give it a good trial run while still able to return the phone. My contract allowed me to return the phone within 2 weeks, as long as I used less than 15min. of talk time, and 5Mb of data. I downloaded a caching app via wifi, and found a few caches before even enabling my network data. What model of phone do you have? Quote Share this post Link to post
