+tango501
Got kinda tired of some of the BS with GCing so took some time off. Besides life was kinda intruding. But...I am back. +OZ2CPU
anyone smart, who got any kind of hobby, and maybe dont like it anymore, try something else, it is fine to go back later, and restart or continue the hobby again, we took two brakes, each nearly a year long, it is very visible on our profile stats, but we dont really care much about the stats anyway, we cache ONLY becourse we like it. Welcome back :-) Not much changed here, so it must be you who changed, hope you like it better now :-) Quote Link to comment

I liked geocaching more when I never visited the forums and found out how so many people want to ruin a otherwise fun hobby, I guess the only reason I come to these forums is I'm sadistic. +DragonsWest
Haven't taken a break from caching, but have taken breaks from the forum. When the negative vibes get too thick I think, "I don't need this" and go off the forums for a while. Edited December 13, 2012 by DragonsWest Quote Link to comment

Fifty one days is a significantly shorter break than I expected after reading your post. I chuckled simply because of the impact of perspective. You hit this game extremely hard for three years so 51 days certainly must feel like a notable break. I, on the other hand would consider it a well deserved vacation. Nice bike, BTW. Oh, I get it... It's sort of like walking into a country bar, stating loudly that all the music on the jukebox stinks, that it's ruining your appreciation for music because you'd rather listen to Beyonce than Blake Shelton, and then wondering why nobody is offering to buy you a beer. None of the Forum Flounders want to ruin your Geocaching experience...THAT would be sadistic. Repeatedly coming back to take in what you really don't want to see/know/hear is masochistic. +Colonial Cats
If you look at our stats you could tell that we are not about the numbers. Our caching activity definitely goes in streaks. Real life gets in the way. Quote Link to comment
+hukilaulau
Got kinda tired of some of the BS with GCing Coming up on eight years of geocaching and really the only BS I've seen has been here on the forums, which is a different hobby from geocaching. I enjoy participating in the forums, and some of my own posts have been sheer nonsense, but I don't confuse that with actually going outside and walking in the woods. The cache I found today was fairly new, but was essentially the same type as the first one I found in December of '04. I can't imagine what would make me want to stop. Quote Link to comment
+jellis
I took two breaks. Once when I sprained my ankle and the other one which was up to 2 and half months when I had a foot operation. I didn't take a break when I was restricted (banned) from caching because I was with friends and when the restriction was lifted I logged them all in. Quote Link to comment
+The_Incredibles_
My longest break was 10 days. This was triggered by a serious emotional upset. It was a strange feeling NOT wanting to cache. I finally had to start making myself go out again and soon got back to enjoying it. It's funny how something you didn't know about 3 years ago can become such an essential part of your life. Maybe he likes to see other people's geocaching experience being ruined - that would qualify as sadism as well Same as DragonsWest, I have taken breaks from the forums but not from geocaching. I pop in every once in a while and respond if there's something that catches my interest, like this thread. Quote Link to comment
