Images: HTTP 503: Service unavailable

Hi there,

 

currently, links to images (e.g. http://img.geocaching.com/cache/large/63c0515e-d402-4aaf-9e66-9dd8fac393d5.jpg) reply with "HTTP 503: Service unavailable". I checked several caches - same result. Also, pictures attached to logs don't show any more. Is this a known issue?

I was going to report this as well but wanted to see if anyone else had already posted, which you had. It's been about a half an hour since I've noticed no pictures and many, not all, avatars not appearing.

Me too in the UK. The only photos I can see are those in the GC forums that have been posted by someone else. We can't see our own photos or those of others on cache pages.

After deleting my history/cache on my pc no pictures are shown any more...

 

Hope someone at GC will kick the (pictures)server back to work again.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing trouble viewing or uploading images. I uploaded photos for a recent log and get the message "can`t view content" ???

yes...I have been experiencing the same problems with both the Geocaching & geocaching Forums website...no images are being displayed?

I was going to print some pictures today to solve a puzzle/mystery cache and no pictures on the page. Then checked here and saw that it was a problem with all pictures hosted by GS. Hope they get it fixed soon. I want to solve a puzzle.

This issue should now be corrected. The image server had gone down and was not responding to remote attempts to reboot. Our IT personnel made a trip in person to give it a talking-to. Please let us know if you encounter any ongoing problems.

Yes, the image server seems to be down again.
