Adding an area to my "Watch List"

I've heard that I can add an area to my watch list. Example, I live in Peterborough, I can set the whole city of Peterborough to my watch list and every time a new cache or event is added in this area, I would get a notification. Is this possible? I can't seem to figure it out just nosing around on my account. I would really like this feature as by the time I finally get my monthly email about new caches and events, I have long missed the FTF and the events are usually full.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.

You can only put individual caches or trackables on your "watchlist".

It sounds like what you really want to do is set up notifications:

1.5. Instant Notifications

Or perhaps you would prefer to run daily PQ's:

2. Pocket Queries

Thanks Pup Patrol! You link to the "instant notifications" was exactly what I was looking for! I just wanted a faster way to be notified of local group events and new caches. Most local events are full before I get the monthly email from geocaching.com. Hoping now with the notifications I might get my first FTF!

No problem. Glad to help.

Just a note, though: you can subscribe to the weekly newsletter:

Another way to find out about new caches and events is to look on your profile, here: http://www.geocaching.com/my/default.aspx and scroll down a bit until you see "List newest in xxx" under the section "Search options".
