+TallGuy789
Hi there. I've just finished creating my first cache. What exactly is the Short Description used for? When I preview my cache, it appears at the top of the listing. Will it appear like that when the cache is published? Quote Link to comment
+palmetto
Yes, the short description will be at the top. A nice way to use the short description is to describe your expectations about difficulty in expected time, physical and search effort in the cache. A quick synopsis that will allow a cacher to decide whether your cache is a good idea. Examples: You are seeking a medium sized lock and lock, about .2 mile easy walk from parking. Nice park. Evil micro, park and grab, but expect this to take some time. Stealth needed. Ammo can cache, steep hike at the last, trail gets rough. Stages intended to be easy finds. Final near parking, or Final as far out as you can get on this trail system. X walking distance. Something that will quickly clarify whether the time and effort in the cache is a good match for the seeker. Edited November 24, 2012 by palmetto Quote Link to comment
+ngrrfan
I've always thought that the short description was a waste of time. If you put nothing in that space you won't see it on your cache page. Quote Link to comment
