+niraD
It would be nice to be able to link to specific Q&A on the Geocaching 101 page, so the accordion mechanism automatically opens the linked target. This makes it easier to give people a link to a specific Q&A, the way you can with specific guidelines on the Geocache Listing Requirements / Guidelines page. For example, on the guidelines page, I can right-click on the "Listings must contain accurate GPS coordinates" link and select the "Copy Link Location" option. The resulting URL is http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#coordinates and if someone follows that link, then the details for that guideline are already open when the page is displayed. In contrast, when I want to direct someone to the "What does a geocache look like?" Q&A on the Geocaching 101 page, I have to give them the URL of the page and then tell them to open the specific Q&A. It would be easier to simply provide a URL like http://www.geocaching.com/guide/#WhatDoesAGeocacheLookLike that would take them directly to the appropriate Q&A, with that Q&A already open. A good suggestion and it would be pretty easy to add anchor tag links to each Q&A. However, since thew open/closed state for each question is managed using javascript/css I'm not sure how easy it would be to produce a URL that would render the page with the specific Q&A open. It should be possible to use the same code on the Geocaching 101 page. Quote Link to comment
