FLtravelers
It seems that the previous owner of one of my geocoins, included it's tracking number in a list that she's made public. The coin is not traveling, yet I get many "discoveries", lately from Portugal. Is there a way to turn off discoveries, or unactivate it? Thanks - Steve Quote Link to comment
Droo
Delete them. If the coin's not traveling the logs are bogus and belong in the trash. Quote Link to comment
Capt Biggins
giving the benefit of the doubt, it could be a simple imposed digit or letter.. I've got that going on with my geocoins from Germany cachers.. Quote Link to comment
FLtravelers
Droo - I thought of deleting them, which I can, but I get two or three a day and I was looking for a way to make it so they can't log it. Deleting them will not prevent others from "discovering". Capt Biggins - There's no doubt. She's released a lengthy list of the geocoins in her possession, and this used to be one of them. Thanks for your responses - Steve Quote Link to comment
The Blorenges
As you're getting a lot of virtual discoveries that you don't want then you could try sending the details to Groundspeak. Ask them to lock the coin - That means that no more logs can be made on it. They might be prepared to do that for you as they have, in the past, locked geocoins that were being virtually logged. MrsB If it is the hassle of getting so many logs that is the problem, then I would take MrsB's advice. If it is the fact that it keeps getting logged, I (personally) would do the same. If it is about how/why/who made and distributed the list/photo... tar 'n feathers come to mind... if you can ever find out who. Quote Link to comment
Eartha
Edit the coin's page to read that virtual discoveries will not be alllowed from the date you bought it. Then clean the page of all virtual discoveries. It won't stop them all, but it might stop some. It also stops some of the emails that ask "why did you delete my log?" Locking the coin will stop all logs. Quote Link to comment
