Give trackable to another user

Is there a way for me to give a trackable to another geocaching.com user. I traveled to a company business meeting with the idea that I would put a trackable in a cache near the hotel. The caches, however, were too far away. But I found that another of my company's employees is also a geocacher. So I gave it to him, so he can drop it in a cache near his home.

The other user can enter a log that he "discovered" it. But this is not really what he did. I do not see another way to put the trackable in his hands. Any other ideas?

Are you looking to transfer ownership to another user, or simply put the physical coin in his hands?

To put the physical trackable in his hands but maintain ownership, I'd send it snail mail.

If you want to transfer ownership, you can use the following site http://geocaching.com/adopt/

I do not own it, so it does not need to be adopted. Neither I nor he wish to take ownership. Only show that the item has been moved from "in my hands" to "in his hands," on the web page.

It is already physically "in his hands," so it does not need to be mailed. I gave it too him at the business meeting.

He needs to "Grab" it from you. That would take it from your inventory and place it in his. At that point (only) can he properly log the trackable into a cache.

Got it! I had not seen that option, as I was looking at the same trackable. When I looked at a different trackable (one that was NOT in my hands), that option is present. So he can "Grab It," and put it in a new cache. All is well.
