You might want to mention that the original Garmin GPS12 can only accept 8 Volts DC from external power. They require a voltage-regulated DC adaptor.

 

The 12XL and 12MAP can both use the 12 Volts DC from the car adaptor directly.

 

I'm guessing your adaptor is for the 12XL and 12MAP, and will not work if someone has the earlier GPS12.

 

The data cables should work OK with all of the GPS12 or GPS48 series.

 

BTW, his prices are VERY good! If you don't have cables yet, grab them!
