Anybody geocaching with samsung galaxy s 3?

I currently have the Galaxy S 1 and the GPS is horrid it bounces me around town for awhile or it will put me across the street before locking on to me and it doesn't seem very accurate. I bought my first GSPr on craigslist and i'm using that mostly but when i'm just about and about and bored i'll bust out the smartphone and i'm thinking about upgrading.

The most accurate smart phone your going to find for Geocaching is an iPhone! I say that although I have a Galaxy.

I just now picked up my son's S3 and tested it. It has a very sensitive GPS, quick to fix. It receives and uses glonass, and looks accurate with no bouncing.

I have also been testing my Tab 2 which seems to have a similar GPS receiver. Inside my house it often receives and uses 16 to 18 satellites.

Samsung is getting better, I think. My Captivate GPS was virtually unusable. My Galaxy Note works great.

I bought my Ace 2 a couple of months ago because it was mid-range, reasonably priced and used GLONASS....but it was worse than my old LG GT540, I ended up buying a bluetooth GPS receiver which is awesome so far! So not all Samsungs are great, I love the phone itself, it's just it's GPS ain't so good

I use the s3 occasionally and find it to be as accurate as any phone based device. Nowhere near as good as a specific GPS device though. The best thing about the android over the iPhone was c:geo, it made my decision a lot harder to make....although the new iPhone made it extremely easy to stick with the test android.

ich benutze schon seit längerem das Galxy S Plus und bin super zufrieden damit. ich arbeite mit c:geo. Wasich besondr angenehm finde: ich kann vom Telefon sofrt loggen mit Text.

I use the galaxy s3 and its lots better than my lg spirit i was using the app i use is called C Geo on android google play store

If you want to test true accuracy, use coordinates for a known benchmark monument.

I used my S3 for quick ones when I didn't have my gps and often times with friends that had an iPhone. We could detect no difference. Sometimes they were closer and sometimes I was. I will do fine.
