Delete a unpublished disabled cache

is there a way to delete a unpublished disabled cache so it wont show on my profile anymore?

Once it's been given its GC number it exists - it has to exist somewhere - That "somewhere" is on your profile.

 

You can archive it - but it'll still be seen (in red text and crossed through) against your profile.

 

You can just leave it as it is and use it for when you next want to submit a cache for review. The whole thing can be edited and all details can be changed as necessary.

If it is unpublished and you archive it, it will not show on your profile as an owned cache.

Users used to be able to click a link on their profile to view a list of their unpublished caches that were archived. But I don't see that link anymore.

If you plan to place another cache then why not edit and reuse the listing? Depending on the circumstances the cache type may/may not be changed though.

If you archive it, it won't show for others, and you'll have a heckuva time finding it. Archive is a log type available to cache owners, to you.

 

It will still exist. But it won't be "in your face" at the top of your profile page.

 

 

To find your archived unpublished caches go to from http://www.geocaching.com/my/default.aspx

click Geocaches (Yours) ...oddly NOT (Yours), but the other Geocaches link.

Oh, you can't see them? More steps ----> on the right side of that page is a box in gray. At the top "Your Geocaches Awaiting Publication (Show Archived)"

click show archived, and they'll show up there.

Thanks. I usually have a bear of a time finding that.

 

To the OP, unpublished archived caches are a handy place to "hide" pictures for use on other caches, among other things.
