+splashy
Don't update to this 4.30 version, it will mess up your settings. http://garminmontanagpsr.wikispaces.com/Firmware#Firmware%20History Use 4.40 instead. To be sure backup your Gps settings. Edited August 31, 2012 by splashy Quote Link to comment
+taeke
For those who have installed 4.30, you need to reinstall 4.20 before you can update to 4.40 (recommended by Garmin). You can download 4.20 from here, and do a manual install (instructions on the page). Quote Link to comment
+TyphoonTom0402
I'm on Version 4.10 (Garmin Montana 650t), can't I just plug in my device and use autoupdater to have it update to the latest version like I've always done? Quote Link to comment

Tom, you should be able to do as you have. There are a couple of options you can use such as WebUpdater, the dashboard in MyGarmin, or if you run BaseCamp & plug in your gps it will check your firmware version and bootup WebUpdater if needed. I updated my 650t with WebUpdater (Macintosh) with no issues. Quote Link to comment

+TyphoonTom0402
Okay...I'm at a loss. I upgraded to V4.40 directly from V4.10 (I never went to V4.20 or V4.30) so I was able to upgrade successfully. I am now able to delete "Recent Finds" and am able to see the option for "ANT Sensor". Also, I verified which version I'm using and it indeed says "V4.40". Now...how come I don't see the "Adventure" icon? It states it should be visible in the menu and when I click on "Where to". Nowhere's to be found. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to do something first? I connected it to my latest version of Base Camp and it communicates just fine. But can't find it on my GPSr. I'm using the Montana 650t. Quote Link to comment
