+Ma & Pa
I am certain we have all had unexpected encounters with cachers while out caching or uncovered strange coincidences about cachers or caches while on the web or at events. Do any really stand out for you? We have often bumped into cachers on our many trips. For example when we were on a trip to UK and we could not find a cache in Hyde Park. A gentleman sitting on a bench held up a film canister and asked if we wanted to sign next. Our strangest coincidence was likely sometime around 2005. We were on the way back from a 2 day caching trip to Nova Scotia. I got off the main highway to pick up a cache and then continued on the secondary road. As we drove by a wooded park I thought it would be a beautiful place to put a puzzle cache I had been working on. I parked in the picnic area, took a regular size cache with me and went to explore a couple of the short trails. I tried a few spots but wasnt happy with them. After about 10 minutes I noticed a 3 foot stump a short distance off the trail. Upon closer examination, I noticed that the stump was a birch and had essentially turned into sawdust and was held together by the bark. I was getting desperate, so I decided to see if I could push my cache down into the sawdust. I must have pushed too hard, because the entire stump collapsed and I found my feet buried in the sawdust. In that pile of sawdust was another cache. I found a place for that cache and went back to my truck to tell MA that I couldn't hide a cache in this park Quote Link to comment
