+i8ntrt Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 what is the best way to find out if the cache you want to hide is to close to caches in the area. I tried pulling up the map through Geocache.com but the only tool is I can pull up is the legend/key at the bottom. Is there a mapping program or a app that I can click on point A and Point B and it will tell the distance between the two or the radius from one cache to plot a hide. Quote
+Lowther Gang Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 (edited) Here is a link to the Geocaching map, enter your post/zip code and it will show you all the caches in your area on a map. http://www.geocaching.com/map/default.aspx Not sure how to measure the distance between them though. If you have a Garmin GPS you can set proximity alarms which shows you distances around caches. Edited August 22, 2012 by Lowther Gang Quote

+i8ntrt Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 I figured out that both NeonGeo and C:geo have what they call circles that you can activate That gives you a 500ft proximity around the cache...at least I think that what it is. I will continue to look. Thanx for the info. Quote
RuideAlmeida Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Please remember that some specific area can have more caches than those that appear on maps... related to final points of multi and mystery/puzzle caches. Quote
+stijnhommes Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 The easiest way is to put the preferred coordinates in the search field and see how far away the closest caches in the area are. If that comes out clean, contact the reviewer of the area and ask them to check if any of the final locations for multi's or puzzles that you can't see are too close. Quote
