+flyfshrgrl
I would like to create an Earthcache on an ecotone I visited recently. Would an ecotone topic qualify as an Earthcache? Thanks for the help! Edited August 21, 2012 by flyfshrgrl Quote Link to comment
+GEO WALKER
By definition an “ecotone” is be primarily biologically based. A site specific basis could work if geological factors were used to support the “ecotone”… Quote Link to comment
+GEO WALKER
What environment(s) are your referring to? Quote Link to comment
+GeoawareGSA1
In general, an EarthCache based primarily on something like an ecotone, biome, ecotope, etc., will not meet the guidelines because such locations are primarily defined by biological factors. However, if there are some interesting geological factors present at the location, those could perhaps be used as the basis for an EarthCache. But of course, it all depends on the specifics of the location, the write-up, logging tasks, etc. Best wishes, GeoawareHQ Quote Link to comment
