+Dr Spiggly Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Hi I am trying to find other cachers in and around my local area who would like to go out fairly regularly ie a few times a month and do the local caches. However i have no idea where to find these other people. Any ideas? Quote
+TheStevensonCrue Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 You could check the calendar for events in your area. +Tre-da Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Hi. Welcome to Geocaching. I guess we started at about the same time as I also started in March and have now found 1000 caches. May I suggest that you have a look in this forum under the relevant section depending on you US state, country or language but probably better still is Facebook. Try finding groups in your area as they are great fun and a very good way to find other cachers. Check also on geocaching.com for events in your area. I have been to a few in my area and they are great for discussing everything geocaching. Hope that helps Rachael Tre-da Quote
RuideAlmeida Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) The best way to meet new geocachers is to publish an event cache. That applies to your local area, but also all over the world. Edited August 20, 2012 by ruidealmeida Quote
ll JK ll Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Keep an eye out for new caches in your area, you may see someone post an event. One of the more active cachers in my area is having a CITO event in September. It'll be a good chance to help out the community and also meet and greet with fellow cachers. Quote
+Bear and Ragged Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 As you are in the UK, there is more chance of meeting 'locals' if you post in the UK and Ireland side of the forums here link We're mostly friendly! Or there are local groups if you tell us where you are... The UK is rather large, OK, not as large as the US, but large enough. There was an 'Adopt a Newbie' thread, but it keeps getting too many pages behind. Feel free to start a new thread! Welcome. Quote
