Mr.Yuck Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 (edited) There are beaches in Alaska?? Apparently, yes. And apparently, it's not the norm to log 31 "daycaches" on the event page in Alaska, either. Otherwise, there'd be 900 attended logs, not 30. Then again, it's not the norm in about 95% of the U.S., and nowhere else in the world. That is indeed an excellent article the reporter did, one of the best I've seen. +SSO JOAT Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 Alaska has 6,640 miles of "beaches"... more than the rest of the country combined. We even have surfers! And no, we strictly prohibit logging events with more than 1 attended log around these parts. That is clearly communicated upfront during our monthly educational events and as part of the instructions provided to those participating in the daycaching game (it's much more than just daycaches). +J the Goat Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 That newspaper article is amazing! Kudos to you for putting on such an event in such a nice place and kudos to the reporter for not screwing up the article Quote
