Rent a park, hide 31 daycaches, buy a couple coolers full of hamburgers and hot dogs, invite all your fellow geocachers and you can have a fun filled day at the beach... GC3EN6B

Invite the local newspaper and you can get some great press coverage for geocaching at the same time!

Wish I could have been there, sounds like a great event. :D

There are beaches in Alaska??

Apparently, yes. And apparently, it's not the norm to log 31 "daycaches" on the event page in Alaska, either. Otherwise, there'd be 900 attended logs, not 30. Then again, it's not the norm in about 95% of the U.S., and nowhere else in the world.

That is indeed an excellent article the reporter did, one of the best I've seen.

Alaska has 6,640 miles of "beaches"... more than the rest of the country combined. :anibad:

We even have surfers!

And no, we strictly prohibit logging events with more than 1 attended log around these parts. That is clearly communicated upfront during our monthly educational events and as part of the instructions provided to those participating in the daycaching game (it's much more than just daycaches).
