+briansnat
I doubt it's a record, but I just had a TB reappear that went missing in 2006. The guy was a new cacher who took it, stopped geocaching and just found it in the bottom of a pack. He found a cache recently just so he could get it back in circulation. +Isonzo Karst
Cool. Beats my record return time of 3 years. I hope yours does better then mine on the second life - mine came back after 3 years, moved once, disappeared again ;-) - that was 4 years ago. But hey, it might yet reappear. Quote Link to comment
+spyder8
I had marked one of my old TBs as "missing". Recently - someone had found it..... What are the website actions to get the TB avail and dropped back into a cache ? I think the cacher that found it was confused, and only logged a "Discovered it" vs a "Grabbed it", so it never appeared in her inventory.... for dropping into a cache. Are there any other special gotchas..... going from the "missing" location back to the real world ? I have now "grabbed it" so this other cacher can "grab it" from my owner hands. Was this correct, or should she have been able to "grab it" from the "missing" location ? tnx - Edited July 29, 2012 by spyder8 Quote Link to comment

That would have brought your TB out of its "unknown location" and into her hands. MrsB Quote Link to comment

I've seen one app that only has Grab TB, and no option to Retrieve TB. Quote Link to comment

+spyder8
tnx - the cacher was just confused a little.... She kept telling me I HAD to place it somewhere before she could "find it", and I kept telling her about the "grab it"..... but she kept saying she had already "discovered it". Just didn't know if when you "grab it", if there might be some magic exclusion like in the "missing" world or "in the hands of the owner". She finally clicked on "grab it" and all is well.
