DannyCaffeine
I am currently in school to become a welder. When I go back in the fall I will have access to a full welding shop. I want to make some kind of really cool cache by welding but I am not sure what I should make. What have/would you make ? Quote Link to comment
+kunarion
A "fire hydrant" would be good. Fence poles cut and welded in a tricky way that can hide an entire ammo box would be pretty cool. Quote Link to comment
AZcachemeister
If you have an artistic bone in your body... Talk to the city parks people, and ask them if you can design and create a sculpture to place in one of the city parks. Let them tell you what the theme might be (city history, something to honor a well-known local, etc.) Design and create your sculpture, and use several (like 10-15) ammo cans in the design. All but one of the ammo cans are carefully welded shut. Quote Link to comment
+tango501
find a very cool park or scenic spot, get permission to build make a bench, not an ordinary bench but on with an ammo can or large storage area for log, trackables etc that is accesses by geocachers only maybe with a coded lock or.... let your imagination go wild get permission Quote Link to comment

DannyCaffeine
Oxy Acetylene welding/cutting SMAW "stick" welding FCAW and GMAW are what I am most skilled with. Sadly no TIG yet but that is what I will learn in the fall. Hopefully I will be good at it since it is similar to Oxy acetylene. Quote Link to comment

If you thought Oxy acetylene welding is hard, wait until you try out TIG! For art design, TIG is the way to go. Was a welder for 10 years. Shhhh, dont tell anyone. Quote Link to comment

+OzzOzz
Imagination. They don't have to be complex, I like fun ones. I have made a few to take back to the Desert in Arizona. Quote Link to comment

I think I was influenced by an old thread wherein Lil Devil discussed a cache that involved a large number (40-50-60?) of ammo cans in his driveway. Quote Link to comment
