help DL caches off this site

Lodge Pole

Recommended Posts

I have a Garmin GPS MAP 60CSX, and can download caches from OpenCaching with no problem. Not so here. I did a download that popped up from this site for browser plug-in and still the system can not SEE my gps.

I get stopped here: 2) Connecting to GPS device

No device found. Click the Help button to view troubleshooting tips.

The gps is turned on and plugged USB.....

Any help?

We have a 60CSX also.

I use GPSBabel to load caches into the gps:

http://www.gpsbabel.org/

I've created a folder on the computer called "GPX files". I download the caches I'm interested in to that folder.

Plug the gps into the computer, then transfer them using GPSBabel. (Some caches get sent to the "Waypoints" folder on the gps, and we haven't yet figured out why that happens. But they're there, just not under "Geocaches".)

I did find one way, with the pop up. I had failed to ID my GPS to the pop up, and I had failed to select 'WRITE'.

But other ways to do this would be handy to learn, try and succeed?

More or less I am brand new to this, but you could find referance to my being here apx 1 year ago. lets just say chit hyappens..

Thanks for the speedy reply.
