+dprovan
We would only say we 'discovered' a trackable if we actually saw and/or touched it. We recently activated some geocoins to place in caches we find. We live in Australia. Within minutes of activating the geocoins, we got emails from people in Austria and Germany saying they had 'discovered' the geocoins ! We just don'f feel this is in the 'spirit' of the 'game'. How can somebody in Austria or Germany have 'discovered' our coins when they haven't even left our possession in Australia? We don't agree with this use of 'Discovering' trackables. If you know that these are virtual discoveries you're entitled to delete the logs. If you want you could add a note to each geocoin's page saying, "Virtual discoveries are not accepted". I once activated a coin and got a quick found log dated in the past, before I bought the coin. When I deleted it, the logger claimed he saw the coin at some show before I owned it. Seemed unlikely, but I let his second log stand, mainly because I couldn't think of any reason someone would bother to lie about something like that. Quote Link to comment
