NanCycle
I have the address of the location I am going to hold an event at> How do I turn that into coordinates for publishing my event? Go to the location and mark the coordinates with your GPSr ??? or GoogleEarth--zoom way in. Quote Link to comment
Markwell
Plug it into the address line in Geocaching.com/seek Then click search The results will have the coordinates in the URL And this has been part of my FAQ for quite some time. Quote Link to comment
Markwell
Plug the address into bing maps and the lat/lon displays in the upper right as well. Quote Link to comment
RonMax
In google maps, you can search the address, right click the spot on the map and "what's here" will give you the coords in the search box. Quote Link to comment
edscott
If you go directly to google maps (not through GC.com), using a MAC , set the cursor at the location and press the shift key a box with the coordinates will appear. It will be in the format nn.nnnnn x nnn.nnnn. Not sure how this might work with a PC Quote Link to comment
kunarion
It will be in the format nn.nnnnn x nnn.nnnn. I don't like that format. That's why I recommended http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/geocode. Markwell's suggestion of http://www.geocaching.com/seek is also good. But unless the Event is in the middle of the street, you've got more work to do, to be sure the coords are useful to the attendees. Edited June 28, 2012 by kunarion Quote Link to comment
