Fife Club
Every couple of weeks I have a few geocoins and travel bugs from Maryland that I've promised to deliver to caches in North or South Carolina. My first preference would be to find new caches each time but unfortunately I only have one brief time opportunity every couple of weeks. Sometimes the weather is bad or I just don't have time to go out searching that day, so it would be great to have a few backup locations I can turn to that would be good for dropping off geocoins and travel bugs when I really don't have enough time to go out finding new geocaches. When I say "good", I mean that... the containers are obviously big enough to hold coins and TBs, so no micros, bisons, or key hiders. they're an easy park & grab for me (once I find it the first time) - no long hikes out of the way. popular enough that the coins/bugs won't sit around too long. Can anybody make a few cache recommendations that hopefully meet these criteria, within 5 miles of Carowinds (southwest Charlotte, NC or Fort Mill, SC)? +Ike 13
How about the regular at the Welcome Center: http://coord.info/GC2KKTW Or the TB Hotel near Carowinds: http://coord.info/GC3HWYH http://coord.info/GC3ARMQ You can easily see more by just clicking on Find ALL nearby caches on the cache page. Here's the search centered on Carowinds: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?lat=35.100400&lng=-80.934783 Also I sometimes don't like dropping TBs into easy caches that are hit often. They tend to go missing more frequently due to newer caches not understanding coins/tbs or from muggles who notice the easy to find cache. Edited June 24, 2012 by IkeHurley13 Quote Link to comment

Any additional recommendations from others for the NC side (Steele Creek) would be nice to add to the list too. Quote Link to comment
