How to download a gpx file

I've created a pocket query, but when I try to copy the results to my Garmin, I'm stumped. The "download waypoints" feature just gives me a .loc file, there's no option to do anything else. Is there a way to add all the results of the query to my GPS at once, or do I just have to copy one at a time? And how the heck do I download a .gpx file?

The Garmin 450 and 550 have a "GPX" directory, and when you plug the GPSr into a USB port, you manage the files directly as if it's an ordinary flash drive. Others may be similar. What model of GPSr do you have?
