+jimbolaiya
HI, I'm planning a day trip and also a weekend trip in Northern California. I am from Oakland. What areas (cities, towns, or parks) do you recommend would have a lot of good caches? What ones would you recommend to drop off and also pickup TB's? I guess tourist areas? Idea would be somewhere driving distance from the Bay Area and would be scenic and have things to do such as shopping and other exploring in addition to geo-caching. Muir woods? Monterey? Bodega Bay? Point Reyes? Thanks Jimmy Quote Link to comment
jholly
Your probably best off asking these questions in the West forum. The Northwest forum does not include California. Quote Link to comment
+WeightMan
I would suggest Firestone which is a nice hike along the west side of Mount Tam. There are several good ones along Highway 1 in that area. It is also one of the oldest caches in CA. Quote Link to comment

+Mauison
Feel free to join the Geocachers of the Bay Area forums: thegba.net There are lots of folks there that can recommended their favorite caches in that area. Quote Link to comment

You can enjoy: nice nature walks (and some history here and there) wildlife viewing (last time we saw a bunch of seals!) beaches parks historic cemetaries horse back riding with ocean views scenic drives up the coast A winery that I *think* had wine tasting (definitely has/had a cache) neat rock formations Not really sure what the shopping is like as that wasn't our thing.
