Recommended Caches in Northern California

HI,

I'm planning a day trip and also a weekend trip in Northern California. I am from Oakland.

What areas (cities, towns, or parks) do you recommend would have a lot of good caches?

What ones would you recommend to drop off and also pickup TB's? I guess tourist areas?

Idea would be somewhere driving distance from the Bay Area and would be scenic and have things to do such as shopping and other exploring in addition to geo-caching.

Muir woods?

Monterey?

Bodega Bay?

Point Reyes?

Thanks

Jimmy

One of my favorite places we've gone is Ft. Bragg area. We camped but there seemed to be quite a few hotels in the area as well.

You can enjoy:

nice nature walks (and some history here and there)

wildlife viewing (last time we saw a bunch of seals!)

beaches

parks

historic cemetaries

horse back riding with ocean views

scenic drives up the coast

A winery that I *think* had wine tasting (definitely has/had a cache)

neat rock formations

Not really sure what the shopping is like as that wasn't our thing.
