MonKeyKeys
Hey Cachers, We're travelling to New Zealand and will be cruising around with a campervan from Auckland to Christchurch, being touristy Any great caches that we shouldn't miss? Especially nice traditionals, or great multi-walk-trails?? Grtz, Monkeykeys Quote Link to comment
GSVNoFixedAbode
Hi MonKeyKeys, There are a few power trails developing around both Auckland and Wellington, and some good new ones on the South coast hills of Wellington. You'll probably get more of a response posting in the locals' watering hole: http://forums.gps.org.nz BTW, any reason you're not taking the Campervan south of Christchurch? West Coast, Mid-Canterbury, Central Otago, Fiordland: probably all rate higher than the Auckland - Wellington drive. Cheers, G. Edited June 17, 2012 by GSVNoFixedAbode Quote Link to comment
mrdan01
If you're up for some very challenging puzzle caches, have a look at LittleG Magic's caches in Christchurch, but look at them before you leave home they also have some great hides Quote Link to comment

jearsy
Cathedral Cove - http://coord.info/GC28DB Beautiful beach and trails leading to it. That indeed was a very beautiful cache location. I would add too if you like earth caches then you should go and check out the Franz Joseph Glacier EC and Hole in the Rock EC up in the North Island. Quote Link to comment
kjwx
Don't forget NZ's oldest cache - and the 5th oldest active cache worldwide - GC46 in Wellington ... Quote Link to comment

bumandworker
Check out kiwi-nomad caches around Nelson (example GC33K4R) for clever inovative hides. He is the master. And, yes, why are you stopping at Christchurch. The best of NZ starts there, both for scenery and cache experience ! Happy travels. b&w Quote Link to comment
