I have a premium membership but I dont know how to do a few things that you should be able to do with it. The first thing is the instant notification on my phone, How do I set that up? And the other thing, would be really nice to know since I do a lot of traveling, find caches along my route. I cannot figure out how to do that either. Some help is much needed and apriciated :)!

I'm assuming the instant notification you are referring to is the email notification of new caches published?

As for "find caches along a route"

click on your profile name, then down the right side of the page go to "build pocket querries". From there you'll see the button "find caches along a route"

Try http://www.geocaching.com/notify/ You will be able to choose an email address (or use the current one) and if you have a phone with, for example the Gmail app, the new caches and whatever else you want will get emailed to you and you can view the notification on your phone. You will still have to visit the website to get the details such as co-ords and description.

A good place to start is the Help Center:

http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php

There's a section specifically about Premium Membership:

I tried to build a PQ along a route. Used the video in Help to learn step by step. All went well except no caches in the PQ.......? There must be a few caches between Rochester, NY and Albany, NY. Help?

The most common cause of an empty PQ is selecting conflicting attributes, such as "Caches I have Found" and "Caches I Have Not Found" Since no cache can be both, no caches are included. Try first making a PQ with no attributes; you can always add them later. And don't select a day for it to run until you are happy with the results.
