+BugBytes
Hi there! I'm not new to geocaching per say but I've recently gotten several friends involved. When we find a geocache together, do most teams sign their names individually or do you create a name for your group and notate that in the log? Sorry if this seems like a silly question; just wondered what is the best way to go about it. I've seen notations in the logs where someone will say that they signed as "Team X" which is different than their usual team name. Would this also necessitate that you have a log-in for that group? Don't want to make this more complicated than it needs to be but wasn't sure. Thank you in advance! Jenn Quote Link to comment

We log online individually yet each of us will mention the group name. Keep it simple and do what works for you. Quote Link to comment
+BugBytes
Thank you! I had a feeling that was the way to do it...or at least the way the worked best for some. Thank you again for kindly responding! Quote Link to comment
+niraD
If there's a need to conserve log space (e.g., a micro-cache in a remote location, or a blinker anywhere), then the groups I've joined have usually signed a single team name. But otherwise, everyone's name goes on the log. (That doesn't necessarily mean that everyone signs their own name though...) Quote Link to comment
+Sol seaker
When I go with a small group we sign separately (although one person usually signs all names). I have gone with a larger group where we sign one name to save space, especially with micros. If the log is really small, I have signed under one name for a small group, now that I think about it. When signing under one name I write that in the online log, so the cache owner will know when (if) they check the log sheet. Quote Link to comment
+St.Matthew
Sadly, some use the team name concept to cheat. The group goes to an area of several caches, such as a power trail, and splits up. Each signs the team name, and they claim all the caches in record time. Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
Had 18 people log a find on one of my caches one day. Fortunately, they signed a group name, or I'd have had to replace the log quickly. Quote Link to comment
