Andronicus
I would like to know where this thread got lost. After being missing (in the forest?) for 5 months, it has insta-magicaly reappeared! Quote Link to comment
+Cool Cow Cachers
Well actually I don't have a gps. I have a gps app on my phone. There's your problem. I wouldn't dream of anything but urban caching on a phone. They are meant for making calls not navigating in the wilderness. I don't care how many fancy apps you have on it. Quote Link to comment

I did a 14h mountain scramble with a phone. After the first few hours, all the guys with me stopped looking at their GPSrs and just asked me where we were. Obviously, a phone has more issues, but they can all be overcome. Check out my signature for information on how it is done. NB The Samsung Rugby is water proof, shock resistand, and is rated for 11h of talk time (not sure how to translate that to navigation time). Quote Link to comment

I've done tons of it in the wilderness and it works great Quote Link to comment
