+Dr.Scissortail
At a flash mob event today I saw and recorded the GC (?) numbers of 8 "geocaches." They were part of official-looking labels on the rear of the cars. Is there a way to log these finds? Is there a special name or category for this type of "geocache?" When I try to log them, it says "unpublished geocache." Quote Link to comment

When you see one, you record it as "visited" unless you actually stole the car! Quote Link to comment
+Chief301
It's not a cache, it's a Travel Bug...you'll have to log them as Trackables, not Geocache finds Quote Link to comment
+Glenn
Did these codes begin with the letters GC? As per the guidelines geocaches must be stationary. So I doubt what you saw was a geocache. Did the official looking label have a symbol that looked something like this If it did then you found a travel bug and you can log it at http://www.geocaching.com/track/travelbug.aspx Even if it didn't you can try and enter the code on the travel bug page and see what happens. The codes should not start with "GC", because those are not caches, they are travel bugs: http://shop.geocaching.com/default/trackable-items-2/travel-bugs/vehicle-magnet-travel-bug.html http://www.geocaching.com/track/travelbugfaq.aspx'>http://www.geocaching.com/track/travelbugfaq.aspx How to Log a Travel Bug http://www.geocaching.com/track/howto.aspx'>http://www.geocaching.com/track/howto.aspx To post a "discovered it" log, go here and enter the tracking codes: http://www.geocaching.com/track/ B. +Dr.Scissortail
Yes, now I see. I took down what I was told without thinking about it. And of course all the stickers had the travel bug symbol on them. Thanks for the responses. Quote Link to comment
