YOSM 500

Recommended Posts

Please don't forget bringing YOSM to the Geolympix in Oxford next month, perhaps to that location we discussed? If you could have it there by July 14th so people running PQs 'catch' it, that would be really appreciated.

On topic, firstly congratulations! It's already been to some of my personal favourites (St Kilda, St Martins, Eigg) but if it's not already been there, would you consider: Hawthornthwaite Fell Top, Cold Ashby (the first Trig), Harry Hut, something striking in the Western Isles or one of the trigs below sea level, for that Quirky value? There are some which have fallen over, some that were never officially used by the OS..? So many to chose from! :)

How about the pillar "Hollyberry End" (TP3975). I don't think it's particularly historic or particularly difficult to get to but it is closest to Meriden, the acknowledged(?) geographic centre of the mainland.

[edit] Or should that be the centre of England?
