How do I hide a geocache at a park?

I am wondering if I needed to ask permission, a few parks around here has geocaches, hidden, but can I hide them at a park without asking permission. Another question do I have to give a reward out to the FTF?

FTF reward -- no.

 

Permission -- usually.

Parks are administered by somebody, usually a community gov't or another organization. They like to keep track of things that go on in their park.

Not all parks allow it, even though there may be a geocache already there, so don't use that as an excuse to go ahead and do it anyway.

Okay, how do I ask them? Do I need to contact them through phone, or email, or snail mail? Thanks for the info btw. I have to ask the parks department right?

First contact, probably email or telephone.

To actually request the permission really should be done in a face-to-face contact. The reason being, that if the administrator has questions, they can be PROMPTLY answered .... and, the requestor's (you) sincerity stands tall.
