+7centsworth
I need help with a hint I have been trying to figure it out for a week. It says using the alphabet and numbers here decipher the hint . The numbers are 18-1-4-5-3. I know the alphabet means the letter above equals the letter below but I just cannot figure it out. I can not find the cache and it is driving me crazy. Thanks for the help. Quote Link to comment
+scrapcat
Got it first try.... Convert the numbers to letters.... Write them out if you have to.... And remember that there is more than one way to look at something.... Sometimes you just have to work backwards to find the answer you seek Quote Link to comment
+The A-Team
I need help with a hint I have been trying to figure it out for a week. It says using the alphabet and numbers here decipher the hint . Thanks for the help. A common way to encrypt some text is to use the numerical value for each letter corresponding to its position in the alphabet. That is, A=1, B=2, C=3, etc. When you get to J=10 and beyond, you just use the last digit, therefore J=0, K=1, L=2, etc. all the way to Z=6 (the 26th letter). Occasionally, someone will use this method starting with A=0, B=1, C=2, etc., but they will normally tell you what number to start with so you know which scheme they're using. Additionally, if you ever decrypt something and the result seems meaningless, try reading the result in reverse. Quote Link to comment
