Capella
Hi there, I think that a feature at geocaching.com showing nearby caches on a map would be very useful. The map could be very simple like the one used in each cache description. Main advantage is that from a given place you can see all the caches in the surrounding, so planning a tour is much easier. Any comments on this? Anybody knows whether an implementation is planned?? Link to comment
+Markwell
Something like this? Unfortunately, the new map system is going to start off in the US. There are maps available starting here, and with a good connection, you can download them, but it doesn't work on a slower connection. Of course, there is the other site. Capella
Thanks for the reply. I had a look at the map and it looks very nice. However I am living outside the US so there might be a long time until I could use this feature. I would also be very happy with a map with much less detail (like the ones on the cache pages). I need a good map for the final approach anyhow... Link to comment
+sbell111
Markwell's 'other site' link may be just the ticket for you. Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again. Link to comment
Capella
I had a look at this map, which gives a good overview over Germany. However as there are 597 caches listed there, some areas are a bit overcrowded, so a zoom facility is missing. Link to comment
