+pens66
I am thinking about attempting the DCNR Geotrail sometime in the near future and wanted to get other cachers thoughts on the series? How long does it take to complete? I was thinking about taking a 3-4 day weekend to complete it? How are the roads? Will I need 4WD to get around or can I get around without it? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Quote Link to comment

+pens66
Here is a link to the information page that has a list of all the caches and a description: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/geotrail.aspx Quote Link to comment
+PeachyPA
I have met a few cachers who have completed the trail, but I didn't ask about the difficulty of the caches, roads, etc. Let me see if I can get one of them to read this thread.... Quote Link to comment
+Sparticus06
The roads are mostly paved with a few being dirt, but none of them you should need 4x4. We did it in a course of several weekends over a few months. You might be able to do it in 4 days if you do just them and that is it. Some are a good hike, some are easy. Raven's Horn seems to be the worst of them since it is up a mountain side and a good long hike. That one alone may take just a day to do. If you have anymore questions email me at sparticus06@verizon.net. I dont come in here at all but did now as a request from PeachyPA. Quote Link to comment
