MOUNTAIN HOME MYSTERY

Supposed to be doing NGS Recoveries from my latest road trip, but I got bogged down (and having too much fun with GE) trying to make sure I didn't miss something. Spent almost two hours on the ground in Mountain Home, ID and about twice thrice that so far on the laptop.

Questions: 1) Is there an easy way upload/link/post what is on a Google Earth screen to a Geocache Log?

2) Can GE really be trusted for horizontal accuracy? I have been very favorably impressed recently, but the 8 May 2003 photo shows the new underpass being constructed right through the location of of OZ1041. The current one seems to correlate closely to the calls for the also NOT FOUND RM.

3) Was the 1903 chiseled square in the southeast capstone of the RR water tank actually occupied and promoted to TRIANGULATION STATION status in 1915 when MOUNTAIN HOME was placed or was its location calculated more recently?

4) Would someone like to do a bit of probing for a chiseled square Black Lava Post? Extended lines from historic street width locations indicate that there is a slim possibility to find it under the lawn right at the northwest edge of the sidewalk.

RIGHT OVER THERE!

Finally a bit of sunshine in Lewistown, MT and I need to get away from this infernal machine for a bit. kayakbird
