My GUESS is that you want the units to be consistent among waymarks. If you used one format and I used another, that would cause confusion among waymarkers wanting to visit. Edit: MAYBE it's just that you can ENTER the coordinates in the different format, but when you save, it converts them for you to the consistent format used on Waymarking.com?
