+brad.32 Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 If I put a link to an external sound file on a travel bug page, then people could hear the sound I want associated with the bug by clicking on it. Can a non-image file be uploaded on the geocaching.com server so it's an internal link, like the images?
iryshe Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 Currently yes, but the new image upload capabilities of the site will restrict to images only. If you have a sound you wish to play you can get a location off-site to point to. Most ISP's provide you with space on their servers for this kind of thing. +Team GeoDillo Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 When this new change is made, will files previously uploaded still work fine (like pdf and wav files)? I have a pdf doc uploaded on this cache GCB1DF and I'm hoping changes won't affect it. Scott of Team GeoDillo
Jeremy Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 Old files will not be affected. We may run additional virus checks, just in case, but won't be removing files. Jeremy Irish Groundspeak - The Language of Location
