FS New Magellan Triton 400 Adventure Pack GPS

Recommended Posts

I have a new in box Magellan Triton 400 Adventure Pack gps receiver that I'd like to sell.

The adventure pack includes

--Triton 400 GPS receiver

--National Geographic TOPO! Explorer Deluxe

--USB data cable

--VantagePoint software

--Quick reference guide, reference manual on CD

--Carrying Case

--SD Memory Card

Triton 400 takes 2 AA batteries. It uses the SIRFstarIII chipset. It comes preloaded with the North America basemap. The topo maps are on the cd. Other maps can be uploaded onto the SD card.

$110 shipped insured in the US. I prefer money order but will consider paypal. Thanks

Edit to add that this is a new unit and not reconditioned. It also will probably need to be upgraded to the latest firmware 1.78. Since it is new and never opened I haven't checked it.

We may be interested in one. Just bought a Triton 1500 for the same price but the Topo CD wasn't part of the deal. Hubby mentioned getting a GPS for the boat.. might talk him into this deal and snag the CD for the 1500. :P

I know it was already asked, but do you take PayPal?

Would this be a good unit for a newbie?

I think a newbie could use this. It is not a extremely basic unit but it does not have all the bell and whistles either. You can find the latest manual here Magellan Triton 400 manual

If you research the unit you will find that a lot of the problems reported were before the latest firmware release (1.78). Many if not most units have bugs that are fixed when the firmware is updated. People will tell you that they love their "xyz" brand gps and you should get one too. But in the end you need to decide what is important for you and what you can afford. My first unit was a very basic magellan. I then upgraded to a lowrance which I loved. Not many people have them. I was always told to get a garmin. LOL
