Geocaching from Android?

I was using an app (free and WAS great) - c:geo

But now with "Live map" no longer working due to a change on geocaching.com webpage.

What app. are people using?

Used to love this app when it had "Live Map" - bummer :-(

Help me find a good app for my android.

Thanks,

Jim

I've been happy with Neongeo. It has a "live map" feature, although I've disabled it because I don't like the way it litters the map with random geocaches that I just happen to pass near.

It uses Groundspeak's API, which is restricted for basic members. To get full functionality with any API-based app, you'll need to be a premium member.

I have used NeonGeo as well and its very similar to c:geo. My favorite is Locus Pro (pay version as it directly downloads PQ results) but since you are not a PM, that won't do anything for you (pro makes the ads go away too but they are not that annoying to me). Try the Locus Free app and get the free Geocaching addon for Locus. It will connect to GS and download caches. Its augmented reality addongs, turn by turn streets, many map sources and a lot of other features.

Locus Free:

Geocaching Addon:

NeonGeo Demo:

I have also tried Columbus but don't much like it.

c:geo has a "Release Candidate" which shows the live map again. You get details on its facebook page.

An alternative for non PM is "Columbus" (as already posted).

There ist tons of other Geocaching Software for Android but most of it uses either offline-Databases which have to be prepared on the PC (GSAK and GeoGet, easiest to feed for PM with pocket queries and "live" API querying) and/or the Groundspeak API which currently makes their "live queries" literally useless for non-PMs.

Do you have a link for the C:geo Facebook page?

I'm reading this from my Android so a link would be very useful.

I have the Groundspeak app, and would prefer to use that, but the maps aren't good, showing only a few caches at a time. I find it frustrating and tedious.

I would prefer Groundspeak fix theirs but until that happens I need more functional maps.

Honest, try NeonGeo as well if you like the GS offical app as NeonGeo is very similar but with better maps. There is a demo (try before you buy). You may like it better or worse than c:geo but at least you will know and costs nothing to give it a go.
