Two Multi's, Proximity?

Couldn't find this elsewhere...

 

Is it possible for the first stages of two separate multi-caches to be published less than .1 miles from each other as long as there are no physical stages at either?

 

For example, there is a nearby road that has a number of interesting plaques less then .1 miles apart. If there is no physical container, can each be used as the first stage in a multi?

 

I'd rather not have to use the Unknown Type if possible. Thanks!

Yes. The proximity guideline only applies to physical caches or stages. If either stage is virtual (or both), the proximity guideline doesn't come into play.
