Leap Day and Premiummembership

What would happen if my Premiummebership expired on the 29th of february this year, and i renew it one the same day for another year?

Do i get one day for free, or one day less for the membership?

Just a stupid question of myself.

Sorry.

Probably a moot point since there won't be anymore leap years.

What do you mean? There is a leap year in 2016.

Nope, remember this is 2012. There is nothing after this year.

No, there is 2013, if that's what you mean.

Your membership will expire Feb. 29, 2013. But since there is no Feb. 29 next year it will expire on Feb. 28, 2013. TANSTAAFL.

According to Microsoft's .NET DateTime library (and Groundspeak writes everything we see using this environment), 2012-02-29 + 1 year = 2013-02-28.

MS SQL Server (which is the database Groundspeak runs everything on) agrees, using its own date function to add 1 year to Leap Day.

I read on somebody's FB that the Mayans didn't account for leap days, since they weren't invented yet. Therefore, 12/21/12 happened a few months ago, according to their calendar. ;)

And the person who wrote that has no understanding of the Mayan calender.

Its on based on days, not solar cycles. Leap day doesn't make a difference.
