+Harry Dolphin
Had one blank day on my calendar: Leap Frog Day. What am I doing in the empty parking lot of a big box store at 7 AM on a weekday, with the temp just above freezing, and snow on the way? Leap Frog Day! Finally colored in my calendar!! +the4dirtydogs
Filled in my day this morning and it was just above freezing too. Can't forget the Souvi also. Got an FTF too. Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
Had been savin' one -- not many in this neck-'o-the-woods that we haven't gotten. Had to rush though, a big winter storm blast is working through the Great Lakes. Strong east wind (rare), got home and the snow started. Cannot see the driveway right now. Timing is EVERYTHING! +mserafim
I had no clue I would get a souvenir... But got a cache today and there it was! 366 days geocaching! Quote Link to comment
+Dancing_Duo
We're FAR from filling in the calendar but will be heading out to find a few later on when the other half gets home from work Quote Link to comment
TheDoctorPH
i plan on going and getting my Leap Day Cache after work. snow, rain, dark, nothing will stop me. i dont have the patients to wait another 4 years. Quote Link to comment
vagabond
found 3 DNFd 1 that hadn't been found since last july, but since I had to go by it thought I'd give it a try Quote Link to comment
+niraD
I've still got 7 days to fill in after today, but this morning I helped a TB complete one of its goals, found a trailhead cache near that goal, and logged a couple puzzle finals on the way home. And this evening, I'll attend a local Leap Day event. Quote Link to comment
+Doctroid
I have lots of empty days in my stats and I can't say filling them really interests me much. But you never know, it might become interesting sometime in the next four years. And there's a micro I hadn't rushed to get because, well, it's a micro, but it's walking distance from my office. So today I got it. Quote Link to comment
+Gamaliel
Grabbed a park and grab in a cul de sac on my way to work on this nice sunny warm day in Florida. Quote Link to comment
+Snoogans
I colored mine in on geocaching's first leap day way back in aught four. I also hid 2 that day and 1 is still going strong. I still plan on cachin' today though. Going to an event across town that is doing a special pathtag for the occasion. Quote Link to comment
+KoosKoos
I found two today to celebrate. You crazy snow people...it's was 75 degrees and sunny for me today. Quote Link to comment
+NYPaddleCacher
I'm planning on attending a Leap Day event this evening as well. There's been a winter weather advisory which sounded like it could have produced some nasty driving conditions so I went out this morning before work and found a cache on a puzzle cache that I had solved awhile back but saved it to find today if, for some reason I couldn't attend the event. When I first checked the site this morning there were no new caches published nearby but about 15 minutes before I left a couple came up, including a puzzle cache. I gave a stab at the puzzle and thought I had a solution but the geochecker denied me. I just checked the site again and now there are about 5 new caches placed for todays event. I checked that puzzle cache and the CO had edited the puzzle to fix a number (which caused me to enter the wrong numbers into the geochecker). It also looks like there are 8 or so cachers out finding the new caches (isn't anyone working today?) Quote Link to comment
+dfx
So why does the "a souvenir by ..." link for this thing go to a 404? Quote Link to comment
+Ed_M
Rainy, cold, and wet. But I found one! One more box filled in. Quote Link to comment
+Turtle_Sask
I also found a cache today! It will be another 4 years until you can get the next one, unless you still go out today to find one! -Cheers Quote Link to comment
+The A-Team
So why does the "a souvenir by ..." link for this thing go to a 404? Because the link points to this: http://www.geocaching.com/souvenir/www.geocaching.com I guess they meant it to point to www.geocaching.com, but got part of another URL in there as well. +skristoff
Yep, snowing here in MA, and we were 0/2 until we decided to drive to an easy local cache just to log. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
I'm not in the process of filling in my calendar, but I'm going to grab a cache today just in case I ever decide to do it. Don't want to have to wait another few years if I do decide to go for it. It's mixed snow and rain right now and pretty nasty. I planned on bagging it after work so I packed a raincoat and a flashlight just in case. Quote Link to comment
+Isonzo Karst
Snagged one today - that makes 3 Leap Years, and cache finds in all of them. Of course, late Feb weather is great here, generally. I'm not working on filling the calendar. I figure it'll happen eventually, whether I work on it or not. Quote Link to comment
+Michaelcycle
Going to an event after work but I stopped on the way to the job this morning to grab a cache in case I ever want to do a challenge that requires finding a physical cache on Leap Day or some such... Besides, it hadn't started raining here yet. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Very windy and muddy out but I got 2 rural finds in today - just to say that I had. Missed my previous opportunities to fill in the day. Quote Link to comment
+GeoStar Husband
I managed 4 finds today. 300 miles of driving in a massive snowstorm that dumped 10-15" of snow so far. I had that many miles due to a court appearance up north. Managed the finds on the way home, in the storm. One find I was 2nd to find and another I got FTF! Pretty happy with the outcome, both at caching and in court! Quote Link to comment
+Andromeda321
Out in the Middle of Nowhere today so I was worried as there was only one cache within walking distance that I hadn't gotten before (and I'd DNF'd on before), but happy to report that I got it this time. And there are new Leap Day caches to find near my apartment when I get home this weekend, woohoo! Quote Link to comment
+CanadianRockies
I went out and found 10 caches today, including five with a friend. That allowed me to log an online smiley for a 366-day calendar challenge that I had been working on -- find number 11. Later, I'll attend a Leap Day event -- find number 12. A good geocaching day. +Da Wards
Busy day today but managed time for 1 dnf and one successful puzzle completion. Tonight is an fm event followed by a couple of nightcaches. All in all a great day. I remember the first time I saw a Calendar challenge, I figured I've been caching for awhile already... I must be getting close. Turned out not only was I over 100 days away but I hadn't even cached 365 days total yet. Stats and perception never gel for me Quote Link to comment

Strong east wind (rare), got home and the snow started. Cannot see the driveway right now. Timing is EVERYTHING! 70 today, 80 tomorrow. I think I'll walk to find my Leap Day cache! +GrateBear
Got two this morning on the way to work, in a sudden mini-snow storm. Been saving them up just for today. Now, only 10 more days to go to fill in my calendar, all in March. I've enjoyed filling in the days, and now have to decide on a new goal to work for. Quote Link to comment
AZcachemeister
I already had five for this date, but I got eleven more today. Quote Link to comment
+captnemo
Wanted to fill the square, so went to a Geocache Flashmob event, my first, at sunrise. Met some new caching friends and the wind didn't come up till latter. Quote Link to comment
hoosier guy
congratz to everyone filed in the calendar today. Quote Link to comment
+geocat_
I was lucky to have the added fun of a 500 mile drive from Baltimore to Dayton. Made this leap frog day a happy (or is it "hoppy"?) one! ----> Loves seeing an "all green" grid! Quote Link to comment
+Manville Possum
I really was leap frog day here at home. Toads in the road every place! We had a very heavy rain that must have washed them out of their hiding places. Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
Never really thought about what days we were caching on, until a few weeks ago when CJ asked if we could stop since, "We never found a cache on this day." - So one of us thinks it fun to keep track. She stopped at a railtrail hide on the way to my house today, "Just in case this crappy weather (snow/sleet) kept us from the event in Jersey." - Apparently it adds this "day" to the cache calendar and presents a souvenir from Groundspeak. Hit the event in Hanover,NJ that was inside the REI store. Very cool. She was looking for a new climbing harness and found one that fit well. I was lifting her by the belay loop and an employee noticed and asked if we wanted rope. (?) He unfurled a rope attached to the ceiling and CJ was able to hang just like we were outdoors. Cabela's is now in second place for her favorite stop. So all-in-all a happy Leap Frog day ! Quote Link to comment
+Team Pixos
We found 7 today, a very hoppy day for us. Quote Link to comment
+hydnsek
I claimed Feb. 29 back in 2004 with six caches. Grabbed a few more today and attended two Leap Day events, which gives me enough 2/29 finds for my state's Intercalation Day challenge. Oddly, while I already had six caches for today, I had none on Feb. 28 or March 1. Go figure. On March 11 I will have all 366 days completed. Yay! Quote Link to comment
+thecaswellfamily
Last night we attended our first local event, and got to put some faces to several caching names we've seen over the last couple of years. And, I finally got to meet Sol Seeker, whose name I imediately recognised from the forums- what a sweetie! (Sol Seeker told me I need to post more, instead of lurking as I tend to do, so here I am). Then, two special night caches were published for the event, and we've never done a real night cache. So what does Momma do? I took our 8 year old out, past her bedtime, trapesing around unfamiliar woods, in the dark, WHILE SNOWING, with total strangers (who will forevermore be thought of as dear friends). Best night ever! When all was said and done we had logged 10 caches for the day, not many by forum standards, but a personal thecaswellfamily record. Yay! We'll be high on the whole experience for some time to come! +J the Goat
I was able to grab 13 or 14 physical caches, 2 stages of a 5/5 multi I've been working on, and an event cache. It was a spectacularly fun day, leap day or otherwise Quote Link to comment
+Dancing_Duo
We found 7 cache yesterday so filled in that day on our calendar (which is far from being filled LOL) Quote Link to comment
+MissJenn
There are some Leap Day updates on the Latitude 47 blog, in case you are interested in the numbers. Not that it's about the numbers. Also, here is a 25-second video: Quote Link to comment
+NYPaddleCacher
I was able to grab 13 or 14 physical caches, 2 stages of a 5/5 multi I've been working on, and an event cache. It was a spectacularly fun day, leap day or otherwise Maybe it isn't just me, but I'm rather enjoying this angst free three that's basically just a bunch of geocachers describing the geocaching experiences on a specific day. I'm tempted to pick some random day in the future, start a new thread just before "the new day" starts near the international date line, and ask people to post about their geocaching experience that day, then ask a moderator to close the thread 24 hours later. Quote Link to comment
+lamoracke
asked a bunch of my friends to take the day off like 6 months ago so we could all finish off the calendar together and have an excuse to cache in an area we rarely hit. We probably got 300 combined finds to the total, and I used the excuse to finally host my 1st event, so was a good day. Quote Link to comment
+LightHouseSeekers
Saved finding a nearby (1/2 mile) cache to fill in the 29th that I could get to even in a blizzard. Though this could still be considered snow country, the white stuff hasn't been seen (expect for dirty piles) here for a while. just had to contend with rain to make the find. Quote Link to comment
+Mr.Benchmark
I'm happy enough to have gotten a souvenir for caching on leap day - but I realized today, looking at my calendar, that I'd actually found 2 caches on 2/29/2004. I completely forgot about that! Quote Link to comment
