+Hasty Javelinas
Here is one of the things I am thinking of making and using as a sig item: paracord "rattle snake tail" keychains. What do you guys think? Quote Link to comment
+SoloSeekers ヅ
Very Cool! Do you make them yourself? Quote Link to comment
+QuiltinNana
I like it. We also make keychains. Someone found one of our keychains and made it into a TB. We package our in a small plastic ziplock from Joanns with a card with our individual names on the back. http://img.geocaching.com/track/large/1b19b841-73fd-4fb9-b52d-25ad33f943d9.jpg Edited February 24, 2012 by QuiltinNana Quote Link to comment

+Hasty Javelinas
Very Cool! Do you make them yourself? I sure do! Thanks for the words folks. I'm currently working up a little graphical tag to put with them. Quote Link to comment
+sholomar
very creative! thought about golf pencils with my geocaching name on them.. figured they may not be thrown away as fast as a laminated piece of paper and would provide some use. But these.. obviously blow that boring idea out of the water. Quote Link to comment
+joefrog
Personally, I love it! Good job! I need to start putting out my old sig item again... Joefrog's Famous Marshmallow Gun! Quote Link to comment
+Hasty Javelinas
I am trying to figure out how to make something that looks like a Javelina out of wood or clay or something, but the only creative thing I can do is tie knots in paracord! lol Quote Link to comment
hoosier guy
I'd love to find one! Quote Link to comment
+The Blorenges
I've never heard of a javelina - I thought it was something similar to a javelin - some sort of small throwing spear! My curiosity got the better of me... Thanks to Google I now know that it's another name for a peccary. Your paracord knotted keyring is very nice. MrsB Quote Link to comment

MrsB Yeah - I think it's mostly a local thing, or it started that way. An Americanism for the American Spanish word for wild boar. Jabalina or some such. I'd been watching them out in the desert here for years before I ever heard the word "peccary". Quote Link to comment
+Dancing_Duo
Very nice. I like One of these days I plan to make some of the survival bracelets to leave in caches. For now I have been making miniature trinkets things from polymer clay & placing each in a baggie (along with a small folded card) Quote Link to comment

For now I have been making miniature trinkets things from polymer clay & placing each in a baggie (along with a small folded card) I make bracelets too but those take a bit longer to tie, so will be saving them for special occasions. I'm also thinking my better half will want to make little things to put in caches too, so I've created a card to go along with both her, and my sig items (we share this username) Quote Link to comment
+SnoopyLu
So nice! I also thought about tinker that kind of keychain. Right now I made some polymer dog-pendants, but I love the idea to build and give away something useful. Can you tell me how long the cord is if you unknot it? Quote Link to comment
+Hasty Javelinas
it's about 4 feet long. Quote Link to comment
+SnoopyLu
Thanks a lot for quick answer I think people in Germany would also like that kind of stuff and I´m very delighted to know, there are cachers, who give away nice swag. Happy caching Quote Link to comment

The card we place is also a business card, just folded in half for the miniature things. We try to carry a variety of things though too including things for children. I'm sure you'll both have lots of fun in making the items as well as visiting various cache Quote Link to comment

We used to Geocache a LOT in the past, and fell out of it for a while when my GPSr died and didnt get a new one for a bit. Could not remember our old username or email address for the site so we just opted to start fresh. Edited February 24, 2012 by Hasty Javelinas Quote Link to comment

One is nirad.sigitem.com that will show you what it will look liked. Quote Link to comment

What do you guys think? What knot is that? It's not a cobra weave like your bracelets. It is probably most commonly known as the 'over and under heaving line knot': After tying it a dozen times or so, I figured out how to burn the two ends of the cord together, and then hide the seam underneath the knots so it appears as one continuous loop of cord.
