XC_Tracker
I've been working on creating an EarthCache involving a river and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I have obtained permission and the educational information will be easy to create, in fact it will probably be a lengthy read with as much information that is available. My trouble is determining the logging requirements. I've thought of having cachers measure the width of the river using waypoints, estimate the flow of the river by throwing a stick in and calculating with time, calculate cfs by having cachers wade in the river, as well as examining the deposited river sediments along the river. Has anyone visited any river caches that they would recommend looking at? Quote Link to comment
+Carbon Hunter
Looking at erosion (undercutting) and deposition - and relating this to sedimentary rock formation (really good if there are some good rock beds nearby to compare against.) Quote Link to comment
+StarDoc
Here's one of mine regarding a local river: Wild Rice Here's another local one that involves a river: Tack Dr. Hjulstom Hopefully those give you some ideas. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
