I see a TB listed in the hands of a cacher who hasn't logged onto GC in a while. In some cases, the TBs can be in a cache just fine (not logged properly), a cache that's not found frequently. These things can and do turn up again, months or years later, even if "stolen".

But if you've verified that your bug was discarded or destroyed, you can design a "proxy" and release it again. See the Travel Bug forum for ideas.

No, this travel bug is in the hands of a geocacher, i have written to her twice to ask her to either place it in a cache or return it to me by post so i can place it in a cache but she's not replying....

A year is the general rule-of-thumb for a re-release.

Even at that, because missing Travel Bugs do appear from time-to-time, be prepared to withdraw one of them from circulation should that happen.

Sending emails to those holding trackables can be problematic. Many times, it appears that they do not respond. Well, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't (life does occasionally get in the way of geocaching). Make sure that your email address goes with what you send (email preferences > profile page), if not, their response may well be directed to <noreply @ geocaching.com> .

I does not appear that the person holding your TB has been geocaching since they picked it up. I would wait a bit and see what happens.
