jholly
If another user has a shared, non-public bookmark and they send me the link to the bookmark ( http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=big-hex-number ) I can paste that into the address bar on a web page and access the bookmark. I am able to download .loc files or generate a PQ. If I use the guid with GetBookmarkListByGuid the API returns a "You do not have permission to access this Bookmark List." status message. Seems to me that if I can access it via a web browser I should also have permission to access it via the API. Edited February 5, 2012 by jholly Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
I spoke with the API team and they indicated that the system was only looking at the public/private status. I've entered this issue into our internal database for future correction. Quote Link to comment

Moun10Bike
Site updates are separate from API updates. This change should be in the v7 release of the API. Quote Link to comment

Site just came backup and it seems to work now with V6, I think that is what GSAK is on. At any rate it works. Thanks for the reply and tell the Devs thanks for the fix. Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
Cool, I guess they added that functionality to v6! Quote Link to comment
